Compliance Resources Coming to Native CSG Stations

Native Public Media (NPM) is aware of accessibility challenges experienced by Native stations due to broadband infrastructure and/or unreliable Internet caused by high latency, bandwidth, cost, capacity, etc. that prevents successful access to on-line resources.

To that regard, NPM recently coordinated with the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) to compile and mail a packet of compliance resources to Native CSG stations. The packet includes:

  • Compliance Card - summarizes compliance provisions in the Communications Act for stations as well as access requirements for your station’s diversity statement, and local content and services report;

  • Communications Act Compliance Booklet - provide more detailed information on provisions in the Communications Act;

  • Financial Reporting Guidelines (October 2017) - includes instructions for completing annual financial reports (i.e. AFR or FSR), and reviews non-federal financial support (NFFS)

  • Radio General Provisions and Eligibility Criteria - explains eligibility requirements – use and restrictions – for your stations FY 2018 CSG award

All stations should be receiving a packet of hardcopies of these documents by the end of February. If you do not receive a packet and would like to request one for your station, please contact Elyse at or at 505.615.5754.

NPM highly encourages a regular review of each of these resources to help maintain compliance for CSG stations. Updated versions of these documents are available each January by request through CPB at
