A hallmark of our Station Support Program is our annual Native Broadcast Summit, which convenes the largest gathering of Tribal broadcasters and media makers serving Indian Country.

Our 2022 Summit was held at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Phoenix, Arizona. This year's theme was"Revealing the Past, Recognizing the Present, Resilient for the Future" and spoke to the critical role those broadcasters and media makers have in creating and sustaining a robust Native media ecosystem that connects Tribal Nations and Citizens.

Our Summit featured networking opportunities, sessions, and speakers that:

  • Supported the compliance of Native radio stations receiving the Community Service Grant through the Corporation for Public Broadcasting

  • Strengthened the sovereign operations of broadcasting stations in Indian Country

  • Enhanced media and technological literacy to promote and empower original Native-centered programming and content

  • Grew the resiliency of broadcasting stations through proactive community engagement strategies

One of NPM's greatest hopes is that old and new members of the Native broadcasting network have an opportunity to connect. Did you make a good connection, but left without contact information? Did you miss the 2022 Summit? We have you covered!
