BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The Board of Directors is an integral part of the organization providing vision and leadership toward the achievement of NPM’s mission to promote healthy, engaged, independent Native communities through Media access, control, and ownership.

Roanne Robinson-Shaddox is an expert in telecommunications.  Her experience includes serving as chief of staff and special assistant to the Assistant Secretary for the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), U.S. Department of Commerce. Robinson-Shaddox continues to increase tribal participation in efforts to address the digital divide across Indian Country.

Barbara Poley retired from the Hopi 

Foundation, as the Executive Director in 2012. She continues to serve her Northern Arizona community in her roles on various educational and volunteer boards.  Poley was recognized for her years of community building and was named a Legacy Leader for her cultural knowledge and dedication to inspire young women by the Spirit Aligned Leadership Program.

Gerad Godfrey is President of two Afognak subsidiaries. Before becoming President, Godfrey served on the Afognak Native Corporation’s Boards of Directors and assumed a cabinet appointment as the Governor’s Senior 

Advisor on Rural Business and 

Intergovernmental Affairs.  His roles cultivated business development and the strategic planning for an array of social/cultural economic endeavors in Alaska.

Edyael Casaperalta is an attorney committed to serving indigenous peoples and underrepresented communities in telecommunications and data privacy fields.  Casperalta was a Fellow at the American Indian Law Program at the University of Colorado Law School, where she researched and wrote about federal Indian law, international human rights, and indigenous peoples’ rights.

Brian Brashier leads the Broadcast Productions Department for KCNP - Chickasaw Community Radio of Southern Oklahoma.  Brashier is a certified storm spotter and member of the Warning Coordination Team for the National Weather Service office in Norman, OK. Prior to working at KCNP Brashier worked as a weather anchor at KWTX-TV in Waco, TX.

Joaqlin Estus has an impressive record of reporting local and national stories about Alaska Native issues. She has served as news director for KNBA radio; public communications director for the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium; and reporter for KTOO FM Juneau, Alaska, Alaska Public Radio Network, and Minnesota Public Radio.

Danae Wilson has been in the technology field for twenty-one years.  Wilson is the Manager of Nez Perce Tribe’s Department of Technology Services which works to bring internet, radio, information systems and communications to the Eastern Columbia Plateau area in Idaho.  Wilson’s tenure has specialized in expanding service to areas where no service existed or limited connectivity was available.  Wilson has also served on NPM's Station Advisory Committee where she contributed towards Station Support Program advancements and strategic planning initiatives.
