NPM Opens Call for Nominations for the Station Advisory Committee

Nominations are now open!

 

Native Public Media (NPM) is currently seeking nominations for candidates from the Southwest regional area whose stations are recipients of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting Community Service Grant to serve as the Southwest Representative on our Station Advisory Committee (SAC).

 

The SAC, a formal committee of the NPM Board of Directors, is critical to the work and services of NPM. Comprised of 7 representatives from the Native radio network, member help to ensure that our services continue to meet the arising and evolving needs of Native stations; specifically those stations that are receiving the Community Service Grant through the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

 

Members are appointed by the NPM Board of Directors for up to two consecutive three year terms. The role of members is to sustain support for the NRS through community input and individual involvement by:

 

  • Reviewing station support services, program goals, and significant policy decisions of NPM

  • Advising the NPM Board with respect to whether the services, programs and policies of NPM are meeting the specialized educational and cultural needs of the NRS

  • Recommending steps and/or actions appropriate to meet NRS needs

  • Attending at least one live meeting each year

  • Participating in all quarterly meetings
