NPM Welcomes Shawn Bitsui

Ya’at’eeh, my name is Shawn Bitsui, and I am Dine (Navajo) who hails from New Mexico. I am of the Red Bottom People, born for the Salt People. I graduated with a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies degree in 2017, with emphases in Business and Wellness from Arizona State University. From there, I earned my Master of Business Administration from Arizona State University in 2020.

Youth have a special place in my heart. I have coordinated summer projects and assisted youth in developing their nutritional and recreational habits. My serious side enjoys Tribal Leader consultation efforts to increase economic prosperity, leading nonprofit grants management to support Indigenous focused programs, and advocating for the wellbeing of Indian Country.

I am excited to be Native Public Media’s new Program Specialist. I am responsible for the program management of the Station Support and Policy Programs and will specialize in leading program initiatives that support our partners. This includes providing critical services to our 59 Native licensed radio stations throughout Indian Country, supporting tribal television stations, assisting with communication efforts, training, researching, organizing, and much more. I look forward to being a part of this great broadcasting community and putting my best efforts forward to help! Ahehee’!
