Native Public Media Vice Chair Matthew Rantanen Joins Panel at the 2018 IGF-USA

FLAGSTAFF, AZ – Native Public Media Board Vice Chair Matthew Rantanen joins Internet stakeholders from academia, industry, government, and civil society on July 27 at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington, DC for the 2018 Internet Governance Forum (IGF)-USA.

The IGF-USA is an effort that convenes invested individuals for constructive and solution-based discussions about threats to the Internet that can inspire policy changes in public and private sectors. The 2018 IGF-USA includes panels, keynotes, and plenaries on the topics of privacy frameworks, connectivity, competition, smart cities, platform content moderation, extraterritoriality of court ruling, and fake news.

Vice Chair Rantanen joins the panel “Connecting Broadband with Economic Opportunities: Challenges and Success Stories” that explores the lack of Internet connection due to costly or substandard service, economic hardship, or environmental barriers in order to identify custom solutions, tools, and policy strategies that can bridge service gaps and lead to economic sustainability for all.
