Washington, D.C., September 4, 2025 – Native Public Media proudly announces the appointment of Brian Wadsworth, NPM’s Chief Operating Officer, to the Public Radio Satellite System’s (PRSS) Distribution & Interconnection (D/I) Committee. Wadsworth will officially begin his tenure in November 2025.

“Brian’s appointment to the PRSS Distribution & Interconnection Committee reflects his deep commitment to advancing equitable access in public media. His leadership ensures that Indigenous and Tribal voices remain part of the national dialogue on how content is distributed and supported across the country. Native Public Media is proud to see him represent our mission at this critical level,” stated Loris Taylor, NPM President and CEO.

The D/I Committee, a standing committee of NPR’s Board under the NPR Distribution division, oversees the operation of the PRSS, ensuring that the nation’s public radio interconnection system functions reliably and equitably. The Committee reviews PRSS policy, exercises financial oversight, and proposes rates and fees for system users, including public radio stations, program producers, and other public telecommunications entities.

Uniquely composed, the D/I Committee includes both NPR Board members and non‑Board representatives who advocate for independent producers and underrepresented public media groups.

“As COO of Native Public Media,” said Wadsworth, “I will actively work within the D/I Committee to ensure that the needs and voices of Indigenous and other underserved media producers are represented and heard in policy, pricing, and system management discussions.”
