NPM Applauds Nominations of Rosenworcel as FCC Chair and Sohn as FCC Commissioner

Native Public Media applauds President Biden for nominating Jessica Rosenworcel for the Federal Communications Commission chair and Gigi Sohn as the fifth commissioner. While Indian Country is enjoying an unprecedented level of broadband support, more Tribal consultation with the FCC lies ahead to ensure net neutrality, adequate broadband policy, and support for the FCC Office of Native Affairs and Policy. Both Rosenworcel and Sohn are longtime champions of broadband for Native Americans. Their leadership comes at a time key to moving a more aggressive agenda to close the digital divide for all Americans. NPM supports and urges the Senate to swiftly confirm Rosenworcel and Sohn to the Commission and Alan Davidson for the National Telecommunications and Information Administration.
