Stimulus Funding for CSG Stations
American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA)
April 2021, The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) will distribute $175 million of emergency stabilization funds for public media allotted by the ARP Act. The $175 million will help to prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus, including for fiscal stabilization grants to public telecommunications entities, as defined in section 397 of the Communications Act of 1934 (47 U.S.C. 397), with no deduction for administrative or other costs of the Corporation, to maintain programming and services and preserve small and rural stations threatened by declines in non-Federal revenues.
Native Public Media submitted a letter to CPB to provide recommendations on the plan development for the distribution of ARP funds to Native stations.
Coronavirus, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES Act)
April 2020, CPB announced that Public Radio and Television stations will receive stimulus funding from CARES Act. The Stimulus Funding will help television and radio stations maintain local programming and services threatened by declines in non-federal revenue sources during the economic decline triggered by COVID-19.
